Brio TOP Electronic Pressure Regulator

Brio TOP is a modern electronic pressure and flow controller from the Italian manufacturer Italtecnica, designed to automate pumping systems and ensure maximum equipment protection under any operating conditions. The device combines the functions of a pressure switch, full safety protections, and intelligent automation, making pump operation stable, safe, and energy-efficient.

The controller features a built-in flow switch and provides comprehensive protection against dry running, overload, and freezing. When water temperature drops below 4 °C, Brio TOP automatically activates the pump in short cycles to prevent ice formation inside the system. In the event of a fault, the unit performs a series of automatic restarts and returns to normal operation once the issue is resolved.

With its IP65 protection rating, the controller can be installed both indoors and outdoors, including in technical wells and pits. Brio TOP is compatible with submersible and surface pumps up to 2200 W and 16 A, and includes an integrated check valve.

Brio TOP operating modes

The controller supports two main pump-management algorithms:

1. Pressure-based control

The pump starts when pressure falls to the preset level and stops once the upper threshold is reached.

Adjustment range:
▪️ Start pressure: 0.5–0.8 bar
▪️ Stop pressure: 1.0–9.0 bar

Best suited for traditional water-supply systems with steady demand.

2. Pressure-and-flow control

The pump starts based on minimum pressure but stops when water flow ceases.

In this mode, the pump operates at maximum capacity and shuts off automatically when the flow stops.

For optimal performance, a pressure tank (accumulator) is recommended — it reduces water hammer, lowers the number of pump starts, and extends pump life.
