Compression tee, polyethylene, bronze insert, PN 6 bar, d. 40 x 1 1/4" (male)
The polyethylene compression tee with a bronze male threaded outlet, PN 6 bar (d 40 × 1 1/4″, male), is used when you need a neat branch off a 40 mm HDPE main line and want to bring out a ready-to-connect thread for valves or equipment. A 40 mm diameter is typically selected for higher-flow main runs, while a 1 1/4″ thread is convenient for piping pump stations, filters, pressure tanks (hydroaccumulators), pressure reducing valves, and distribution manifolds.
The polyethylene body is compatible with PE80/PE100 pipes, is corrosion-free, and performs reliably in damp environments where metal assemblies often seize over time. The bronze insert provides accurate thread geometry and long service life under repeated connections: the threaded outlet does not deform and maintains sealing stability comparable to classic bronze fittings. The result is a hybrid solution for private water supply and irrigation networks where fast installation and serviceability without special tools are important, using the insertion depth mark as a guide.
Compression joints are assembled without welding or adhesive. The pipe is cut square, chamfered, inserted fully into the fitting, and the nut is tightened. Leak-tightness is ensured by an elastomer sealing ring, while a locking ring prevents axial pipe movement under pressure. The connection is demountable: the tee can be removed for winter, the tapping point can be relocated, or a valve/filter can be added without disturbing the whole pipeline. This is especially practical for installations in pits and trenches—the joint tolerates seasonal ground movement and periodic maintenance.
Seal the 1 1/4″ thread with PTFE tape or flax/hemp with paste; do not overtighten to avoid damaging the thread and the mating part’s seals. Intended media: cold water and technical liquids; for hot water, steam, and gas, other fitting types should be used.
Specifications: HDPE compression tee; connections — 40×40 mm; outlet — 1 1/4″ (male thread, bronze); PN 6 bar.
