How the Pedrollo PSG1 Pressure Switch Works

After installation in the system, the switch starts monitoring the water pressure in the pipeline:

▪️When pressure drops to the set minimum (1.4 bar by default) — the pump automatically turns on.
▪️When the upper pressure limit is reached (2.8 bar) — the pump turns off.

Its operation is based on the mechanical closing/opening of electrical contacts:
when pressure drops, the spring-membrane mechanism closes the contact and activates the pump. Once the pressure reaches the set maximum, the contacts open — power is cut, and the pump stops.

Installation and Adjustment Features

▪️The switch is mounted directly on the pipeline and requires membrane contact with water.
▪️For proper operation, the pressure switch must be used with a pressure tank (hydroaccumulator) to dampen hydraulic shocks, and with a pressure gauge — for precise adjustment and monitoring.
▪️Suitable for surface pumps, submersible borehole pumps, and pump stations (hydrophores).

▪️Factory settings:

Pump ON: at 1.4 bar

Pump OFF: at 2.8 bar

▪️Adjustment:

The large spring adjusts the overall pressure range. One nut turn = ±0.5–1.0 bar.

The small spring adjusts the difference between pump start and stop (delta). One nut turn = ±0.2 bar.

▪️Simple adjustment process:

Connect a pressure gauge near the switch.

Record the ON and OFF pressure points.

Disconnect the pump from the power supply.

Remove the switch cover and adjust the springs.

Reconnect the pump and check the result on the gauge.
