Compression ball valve PN 10 bar, d 40 × 1 1/4" (female)
When a system requires higher flow capacity and reliable shut-off on a more “serious” main line, the Ø40 mm PN10 compression ball valve is one of the most convenient options. This model is installed on HDPE/PEHD (PND) pipe d 40 and features a 1 1/4” female threaded outlet, allowing you to quickly connect a threaded fitting, manifold, filter, distribution node, irrigation line, or a section of cold-water supply. It is particularly relevant for garden plots, greenhouse operations, and irrigation layouts where stable water delivery is critical and you need to isolate a branch instantly without stopping the whole network.
The design is built around a ball shut-off mechanism. It is simple and effective: one turn of the handle switches the valve to full-bore flow or complete shut-off. Tight contact between the ball and the seats delivers high sealing performance, reducing the risk of leaks, pressure drops, and water loss. In irrigation systems, this translates into tangible efficiency: you can manage water supply across zones, isolate the required irrigation area, shut down a line for maintenance or repair, and bring the system back online quickly.
The compression (clamp) connection is a key advantage for field installation. The valve is secured to the pipe by uniform compression, forming a dependable joint without welding and without complex tools. This is especially useful where specialized equipment is not available—inside chambers, caissons, distribution cabinets, or at outdoor inlets. The polyethylene body is corrosion-resistant and withstands many external chemical influences, making the valve well suited for humid environments and changing conditions—where metal components often require replacement.
The valve is rated PN10 (up to 10 bar) with a maximum working temperature of up to 40 °C—ideal for cold water and most medium-pressure irrigation systems. It is compatible with widely used fittings and threaded connections, so it integrates easily into both new assemblies and existing pipelines. With proper installation, it is designed for long service life—around 20 years on average.
Installation recommendations: mount the valve on a clean, straight HDPE pipe section, following the flow-direction arrow. Tighten carefully and evenly without over-torquing to avoid thread damage. Before commissioning, check all joints for leaks. During pressure testing keep the valve closed; when first introducing water, slightly open it to reduce the chance of joint movement in systems with compression connections.
