90° chimney elbow with inspection opening SOLINOX Ø200 (inox 316)

The SOLINOX 90° Ø200 chimney elbow with an inspection port, made of stainless steel inox 316, is designed to turn a large-diameter flue run by 90 degrees in systems with higher load and flow demand. It is used when a straight chimney route cannot be maintained due to project constraints, while stable flue-gas evacuation and convenient service access at the most critical point remain required.

A 90-degree turn is a technically demanding section of a chimney. At this point the gas direction changes, flow velocity decreases, and the likelihood of solid-particle accumulation increases. In addition, with larger diameters, condensate forms more readily as flue gases cool. The inspection hatch enables regular condition checks exactly at the bend: cleaning, removing deposits, inspecting internal surfaces, and maintaining the designed cross-section without dismantling the system.

The AISI 316 stainless-steel construction is intended for environments with increased moisture exposure and aggressive compounds produced during fuel combustion. Compared to 304, this grade offers higher corrosion resistance and is more commonly selected for chimneys operating under unstable temperature regimes, frequent shutdowns, and repeated start-ups. This choice extends service life and reduces the risk of premature damage to internal walls.

The Ø200 mm diameter is used in chimney systems for high-output boilers, stoves, and heating appliances with a large volume of flue gases. The increased cross-section reduces overall route resistance; however, a 90-degree turn adds aerodynamic resistance. That is why an inspection port is especially important at this diameter: it allows the channel to be kept clean and helps preserve calculated draft performance throughout the operating life.
